The writing tools don’t. They use proven hook, caption, and title patterns that run in your browser, which is why they’re instant and unlimited. AI video analysis and AI rewrites use Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. Treat every result as a draft you can edit.
The video file stays on your device. Refract takes a few still frames in your browser and sends only those, plus any notes you type, to the AI to write your text. Refract doesn’t keep the frames after the analysis finishes.
You can paste a link to a TikTok or YouTube post that you own or have permission to use. Refract reads its public title, caption, and cover image through each platform’s official embed service and never downloads the video. Instagram only shares post details with approved apps, so for Instagram, upload the video file instead.
